AFCAT – Flying Branch: Men and women, unmarried only, aged 20–24 years, with a graduate degree, with Physics & Maths in Class 12. AFCAT – Ground Duty (Tech): Men and women, married or unmarried, aged 20–26 years, with an engineering degree (BE/B.Tech). AFCAT – Ground Duty (Non-Tech): Men and women, married or unmarried, aged 20–26 years, with a graduate degree.
For AFCAT – Flying Branch, candidates must be 20–24 years old. For AFCAT – Ground Duty (Tech), candidates must be 20–26 years old. For AFCAT – Ground Duty (Non-Tech), candidates must be 20–26 years old.
AFCAT written exam, then the AFSB (and CPSS for flying), followed by the 5-day SSB interview and a medical examination.
AFCAT – Flying Branch: No — candidates must be unmarried, and must stay unmarried through training. AFCAT – Ground Duty (Tech): Yes — married candidates may apply. AFCAT – Ground Duty (Non-Tech): Yes — married candidates may apply.
It is conducted by an Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) and follows the same 5-day pattern — screening, psychology, GTO and interview — with an extra pilot aptitude test (CPSS) for the flying branch.
